A promise fulfilled! PAGCOR turns over P5 billion to Duterte to kickstart 'Botika Ng Masa' revival

During the presidential campaign, Duterte —if elected President - promised to channel PAGCOR funds into the Health Department to provide quality and free health services to Filipinos. 

Approximately five months into office, the President can turn his promise into a reality. President Rodrigo Duterte finally accepted a P5-billion check donation from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) in Malacañang on November 28, 2016.

he turnover of P5 billion socio-civic fund from PAGCOR to the office of the President will be used to kickstart the revival of the pharmacy for the people, dubbed as "Botika ng Masa".

President Duterte has promised to make the health sector among his top budget priorities. He said that he wants to make sure "no one goes home without buying medicine."

Through Botika ng Bayan project, medicines and health care will be made readily at the grasp of the Filipino people.
